Nova, who was born blind, undergoes an operation (after being persuaded by her brother) for her to be able to see. But when she wakes up, she is confused by a world that she cannot understand. She then meets Kate in the waiting room and their friendship quickly begins to bloom.
Kate helps Nova with understanding the world, meanwhile Nova helps Kate to deal with her abusive relationship.
I was gripped from the very start and it was difficult to put this novel down. The writing style made the novel very enjoyable.
The main character (Nova) has a great sense of humour and goes through great character development especially in her decision making. The characters are also very realistic as we can see their flaws and that they are not all perfect.
