I have to admit, this book is more interesting than what I thought. I only read the first chapters, but I already see things in a different way.
The book tells the story of 2 different women, in two different situations. Whether these women are connected somehow, I don't know yet, but I think they will be.

Nova is blind and gay.
Kate can see, is married and is just renovating a new flat.

So far, the book concentrates a lot more on Nova than on Kate, and this was most insightful. I don't know any blind person, I have never read a book where the main character is blind. I don't have much knowledge on the subject, only that a blind person cannot see - or is able to see only shadows.
The first few reflections of Nova made me really think of what being blind really means. We - sighted people - do not pay much attention on what for us is normal. We do not argue the reason why we are able to see through glass, Nova does. She does not understand how people can see through a solid object. I never thought of that!

I really would like to read this book not only because it's written in a beautiful way, but also because I would like to gain more knowledge on the subject.
Only thing I didn't get is why some words are written in a double line...I guess I will have to carry on reading to find out.
