When saw this book and read the first look I was really excited to read this book and then hearing that I had been chosen to receive a copy of it, I was super excited to get started on it as soon as I could.
Unfortunately, I’ve now finished it and it was such a hard struggle to finish. It’s such a short book but it took me just over a week to finish.
The first half of this book was just so slow and dull. It does pick up in the second half but it’s still not as good as I was expecting it to be. It had potential to be a great but sadly it just didn’t deliver.
Also, I was really disappointed with how the author described some of the female characters and it really irritated me. Also, I felt very angry when the author described a character with Down Syndrome as “Moon faced” this actually made me so angry that I nearly threw the book across the room.
The writing in this book isn’t great and it didn’t pull me in, but it does get a bit better near the end.
Both the plot and characters had the potential to be great but again they felt really underdeveloped and flat. The plot was very predictable, and I had worked out the ending before I even got to it.
