I did not finish this book - I read about 50 pages and just found the content incredibly problematic on many levels, primarily the gross level of misogyny on display from page 1. It is pretty clear that the teenage girl in the story is being written by a middle aged man, which just left a bad taste in my mouth. The mental health representation in the narrative is really problematic, as is the disability representation. There are some racist aspects that were distasteful and this was all just within the first 50 pages. In terms of the actual writing, the prose itself was pretty bad, with an awful lot of exposition up front that was pretty turgid and didn't bode well, for me. Just not a great reading experience overall.
