As an avid reader of young adult dystopia, high-school drama and action novels, this book is everything I look for in a new book. I had extremely high hopes from just the cover, and when I started reading, I found that the book did exactly what I expected it to do. I finished it in a day because I simply couldn't put it down.

This novel is about Skye, a wealthy teenage girl in New York, who is desperate to avoid becoming a social outcast like she was once before. She falls fairly easily into the clique of mean girls with the richest-of-the-rich in her new Manhattan private school, despite disagreeing with much of what they do. She only grows more attached to the group when she finds out that they make frequent trips to a grim future for the sake of an adrenaline rush.

Some of the cliched characters in this novel were reminiscent of the mean girls in many high-school clique stories that have come before, but the action and fascination of the novel definitely took the attention off the stereotypical traits that some of them had. Also, the relationships that were built between Skye and the mean girls, as well as her love interest, her twin and the rich but troubled nice girl, were interesting to read as some characters definitely shifted personalities and developed as the story went on.

The dystopian aspect of this book had me hooked from the first trip to the future, and I am sure that, if you enjoy YA action, you will enjoy this novel.
