I received an arc of this on netgalley, from Hot Key Books. I knew absolutely nothing about it before going in other than the rumours of an apocalypse and the possibility of time travel so I didn't really know what to expect.

This is my first dive into a book by Matthew Reilly and I was not disappointed, the first 20% of this book was a little boring and slow, but I think that's purely because I wasn't expecting it to be set in a school and be focused on school aged kids.

Once they started talking about the missing girls and the 'running' I devoured this book.

It shows how breakable friendships can be and how some people just use others in any way they can to get on top, whilst also showing the true value of certain friendships and how deep the sibling/twin bond truly is, and also really hammers home the fact that you should NEVER judge someone based on stories from other people.

It was a really fast paced read that had me constantly second guessing myself as to where the story was heading, it broke my heart in some places, but made my heart happy in others.

A truly magical read full of characters that I will love for a long time.
