I was so excited for this book - and hearing that it was written by an author who has sold so many copies of his previous books, I was expecting to be blown away by this.
Unfortunately, I'm about a quarter of the way through this book, and I am struggling to continue.
Looking online at the reviews on Goodreads, I'm glad to see that some others are as underwhelmed as I am about this book. For starters, you can tell it's written by a man just from the descriptions on the female characters alone. Secondly, I don't agree with describing a character as 'moon faced' when they have down syndrome.
I am going to continue reading this book, in the hope that it might pick up. The writing isn't that great and doesn't do the best job of pulling me in, but I've already read from other reviews that it does pick up about halfway through, so I may attempt to give it a better chance.
