This was a very conflicting read, I was unaware of the author before coming across this interesting looking cover. As it has been labelled as a young adult book I was instantly intrigued about the novel, as I mostly only read YA. However it soon became apparent that this author was not familiar with YA books or their general audience. At times the writing was frighteningly offensive, which led to the low rating I have given it. The introduction was long and tiring, all manner of high school drama was thrown into the plot.
The time travel element is a fairly unique plot amongst YA novels, I will admit I didn't find the book boring at all and was curious as to the outcome of the characters until the last page. However the main character, particularly in the first half of the book, was almost insufferable. Skye is as stereotypical as teen girls can be, especially in the eyes of the older generation and this is exactly how she'd depicted, the second half when she had more substance to her character was a more enjoyable read.
This novel was definitely an interesting book, but the writing definitely let it down at times. The author needs to take a lot more care when writing for a different audience than usual.
