Although not my usual kind crime/thriller fare, I do have a penchant for Maeve Binchy and her warm, insightful, feel-good reads set in beautiful Ireland and the humour of Marian Keyes. Claudia Carroll’s novel appears to share much in common with this big hearted novel of female friendship and the lives of those who reside in Primrose Square.

What ails and inspires them each is still to be discovered, with Susan loitering outside a teenage boy’s window whilst her adolescent daughter, Melissa, awaits at home, spoils a beef stew and becomes increasingly panic-stricken as her big sister remains blissfully ignorant..

Meanwhile busy Dr. Khan bustles off to the maternity hospital and Melissa’s neighbour, Jayne, chatters away to her deceased husband, Tom, as she deliberates on dropping some potentially bombshell news.. How do their lives cross over and what does life on Primrose Square mean to them all? I, for one, cannot wait to find out!
