The set up of the book so that you have the point of view of different characters, all in the same place, all with (mostly) different problems, makes you curious as to how the book will end. It makes me wonder if I'll find out what happens to each character.
I'm also curious to find out what Jayne's secret is, what happened to Melissa's sister/ Susan's daughter, why Irene is such a snob and why Nancy was so desperate to move away from London.
It had me hooked from the start and I'm very curious as to what happens next.
The cover is nice, but it doesn't portray a single bit about the books beginning, which in this case is actually good, because if it did, you might not have the heart to read it.
