I enjoyed this book - I liked all the different threads that pulled together as the various characters interacted, and it was funny in parts. It was also refreshing to read a book that was more concerned with friendships than romantic relationships. However, I felt the characters were just too black and white. The pantomime 'baddies' (Jason and Irene) were fun, and I loved the way Jason especially spoke to everybody, but the 'goodies' were just too good, and so the book became a little hard to believe in. I also found the all-round happy ending a bit too perfect. Overall a hopeful and life-affirming book, but I would have enjoyed more depth and flaws in the characters, plus an ending that didn't wrap everyone's lives up quite so neatly.
