I have felt in love with this book by the cover. The building colors remind me, San Francisco. The title teases my curiosity and I have said yes I buy it!
I have read it in less than a week and the suspense has come through the pages and you do not have the chance to stop reading it!
Each single protagonists have something to tell and show. I think the author got the point to make real the feelings of them by the words she has used taking all the attention they need.
The protagonists’ stories are described as they are true and you, during the reading, feel to be part one of them.
I do not why I feel this book like to be my book! Part of the cataracts story and dialogues seems to be mine as well. Melissa’s life has been like mime as I was at the same age. I felt her agony and pains and worries for her father and mother. She was a proud and strong girl to face all the difficulties she has had been through. It is never easy when you lose someone you love especially when it is your child or sisters. I have had in my life some experiences as Melissa has had and her tears were my tears too.
Nacy, as well as the others, had helped Melissa’s mother to cope with the darkness inside her and she showed strength and forgiveness to the one have taken from her the beautiful and lovely daughter. She was so lucky to find neighbors like the ones she had because gave her the trust and strength to go over her troubles in London and get back her reputation and life. It is never simple to fight the system especially if you are a simple girl like Nancy is.
Jane has remembered me my father’s companion and her story is quite similar to her and how my father nad her love each other. Love does not know age, race, country, etc he knows only true and clean hearts.
Melissa’s mother show in the end love and affection to her daughter and finally understand the importance of care of Melissa and helo her to become a woman. She went through a lot and the loss of her daughter was not easy for her.
Dublin has been described by the protagonist eyes and words, sometimes seem no to be in that city but somewhere else in the world. It seems like a city with a lot of secrets and places to be discovered and visited.
Wonderful has been the way Melissa told about theatre. It has been like a real experience when she referred about all the single aspect of what she has experienced during the first visit to the theather during the moment they have been setting up Pride and Prejudice show. Melissa is an adult due to what she has passed, but her eyes are still baby ones and she sees everything like a child with enthusiasm and joy.
When Claudia Carrol describes the arrival of the spring seems that the sun, the fresh air were in my room and my house while I was reading.
As it was on my veins, when I have closed my eyes I have dreamt the protagonist, Dublin, the national theatre, the bench and all the places they go for a stroll include Temple Bar and the pub and restaurant they were.
I would like to buy all the books by Claudia Carroll as I suppose all of them should give me the same feeling and thoughts. I like the way she writes and the plot of the books.
I, definitely, suggest to but it as to buy the other written by Carroll Claudia.
And enjoy the reading with a lovely cup of coffee or the by the way as the spring and the warm is coming you can read sitting on a bench in the park at the beach or simply sitting in a public garden.
