What a sweet story this turned into. The path people travel along to overcome grief and find recovery. The power of family and community support. The special bonds that form between people that make all things seem not only possible but achievable.

I enjoyed the pace of the story, it was an easy going narrative that flowed well. The characters were believable individually and together, their relationships were not contrived they seemed honest. The underlying story of this particular sort of loss is a hard one to write about but the author addressed it with aplomb and grasped the duality and conflicting emotions very well.

The star of the story has to be Melissa, so young and yet so together. Jayne the eternal mother figure. Nancy providing the glue that brings them together. Eric the unlikely hero. Primrose Square the pleasant sounding backdrop. A good holiday read and an author I will look out for now.
