It was only after finishing i read the stuff in the first pages with the copyright info and discovered this is the 4th printing of a book written in the 1980s. There was nothing to indicate any new material had been added with the intervening 30 odd years or a reason for the new publishing but there does seem to be an increased page count from the first edition which came in at an even slimmer 160-ish.
That being said it was an easy enough read, it's quite a short book at around 245 pages. The writing style left me a bit cold, the speech between characters felt a little too cleaned up and proper for what were London gangsters, they seemed to talk more like college educated people.
Is there also an element of the author not wanting to implicate himself any more than he needed to get the story across, how involved was he really? How believable are some parts when it's just the author and another person talking, and that other person now happens to be dead, there's no way to verify the truth.
It does show how dodgy we know the twins were, but at the same time doesn't give enough information about them, they are almost bit players rather than the main act which sort of implies to me the author was bigging up his own part in the firm more than it actually was.
