To begin with I was initially excited to read this book, and I really liked the cover, this book definitely stands out on the shelf. The book was an easy and quick read but the writing felt rigid and formal, especially in the way that people spoke to each other, it felt unhuman. As for the title and content of this book, ‘The secrets of the Kray Twins’ I was ultimately disappointed, there was no part of it that I hadn’t previously read in another book about ‘the twins’ and in much more detail. All in all, it was an okay read, it looks good on the shelf, but it is not one of the better books or more detailed books about the krays, despite being wrote by a previous member of the firm. I would only recommend this book as a brief introduction to the krays and their lives.
