Right from the beginning of the book I was hooked. I genuinely felt as though I could have been there In the back street pubs with the Krays, trying to avoid a beating.
The description of the day to day one and outs of their dodgy dealings had me on the edge of my seat. The bar fights and troublemaking kept me hooked and wanting to read on.
Despite knowing about the Krays before reading, I was shocked by the coldness with which they simply popped into a pub and finished someone off with their gun...especially when they would then just casually carry on drinking.
I felt sorry for the people who just so happened to hang out in the same places who got wrapped up in the trouble the krays brought with them wherever they went...the innocent bystanders who became accessories to crimes.
