John Dickson spent time in 'The Firm' with the infamous Kray Twins. This is his account of his time with them, from this point of view. All historical autobiographical non-fiction has to understood to be snippets and memories of the person who is writing it, and speculating for the times that the person wasn't there. Rumours can become fact with someone investigating a person's life after they are dead if the writer was not there. Therefore, Dickson's account adds weight to his discussions because he was actually there. This is a fascinating insight into the Krays' lives, and the diary entry format is a nice touch from the author. It is an eye-opening look into a time, place and type of life I knew nothing about, and I learned a lot from it.
