Found this a very interesting addition to the books written on London’s gangland figures after the Second World War. The Krays were a feared family who ran protection rackets in the London area. This account from a former member of the gang gives an insight into the various activities that this gang were involved in. For obvious reason it is carefully written and does not go into huge detail of events. Nevertheless for anyone who has an interest in this part of London’s history it is worth a read. The author could certainly handle himself and managed to stay alive as the brothers became increasingly unstable. The part where they looked after an escaped convict was particularly interesting. A short book but well written.
