It is difficult to put into words just how good the start of this book is without sounding cliché, however, this is easily one of the best openings I have read for a thriller. I am intrigued by Georgia, the courtroom artist who seems to be able to tell whether a person is guilty or not, as well as the Suzanne who is mentioned at the start of the book. The opening with Suzanne is threatening and sinister without being in your face about it, with nothing being explained but you know something is off about it. I am already invested in this story just to see if my suspicions are right about the links between the characters.

The sudden shift to 20 years later is done really well, as the reader is not thrown out of the narrative by the sudden shift, and the mystery only deepens the further the reader goes into the book. I really hope that the pace, tone and presentation that is at the start of the book will continue throughout. It is an amazing read and I am so excited for the opportunity to read this book.
