This story had me hooked from the start and I just couldn't turn the pages quickly enough! I found Georgia, the main character's work fascinating. She is a court artist, responsible for capturing what happens inside court on high profile cases which are then used in reports by the media. The trial that Georgia is currently working on is a rape trial and this provides a real insight in to the thoughts and messages Georgia wishes to portray within her work to the public. A key event from her childhood plays a huge part in the person she is today and this is really cleverly woven through the story and why she does this type of work.
The prominent part of the story allows us to see Georgia delve back in to a case that she was drawing for right at the beginning of her court artist career. Her drive to find out the truth is so cleverly detailed and I loved the shock and surprise that the ending and resolution of this left me feeling - it was fantastic!
There is a real depth to Georgia and I really felt like I was there with her as she learnt more about herself and fought to resolve the demons from her past!
This is a gripping and fast paced debut thriller and I would recommend this to everyone!
