The characters are at an exclusive / upper class school in the USA. There is a warning that the book contains details of sexual violence. There is also frequent use of the “F” word. OK, in real life students “F” all the time, but this does not have to be used to add something to the script, it does not! The writing is rather disjointed and staccato. There are books that just “grab” you, and you cannot put them down. I found I was speed reading to get through it quickly, and found that I was not missing much. The cover is striking but uninformative, and unlikely to attract when it is on a bookshop shelf. This book is not for me.
