It hurts to read this book. However you identify, reading about how toxic masculinity is rife and endorsed, especially by those in a position of power and privilege, will make you feel angry, even more so that you know it still happens. Again, again and again.

I'm not going to lie, this book is upsetting and I find it difficult reading about rape and sexual assault, but this book handles these elements well - not hiding from them, but delivered very well.

Yes, it can be heavy, but there are other elements to the story other than this, and from different characters, which is why I was able to read it rather quickly and also find parts of the story enjoyable to read.

I'd recommend that this book is read by more young men, and even men in general because behavioural traits can be blissfully ignored.

Finally, I applaud the cover - boys, you will be held accountable.
