The students of Lycroft-Phelps range from the hard-working and determined to the haughty elite.

Quinn is out to seek revenge on Colin for assaulting her the previous term, and at times this made for tough and emotional reading, however this was imperative and the author handled such topics with the care it needed. Whilst fictitious, the book highlights the very real nature of schools, private especially, and the things that teenagers have to face on an all-too-frequent basis.

We follow Quinn's narrative along with those of Charlotte - a well-achieving, 'perfect' student with the popular boyfriend, and Max - a scholarship student who is desperately trying to fit in. These narratives weaved together to highlight just how difficult it can be to not lose sight of your own values, in favour of trying to 'fit in.'

I thought the book was an essential and gripping read and the author handled the subject matter with sensitivity, whilst also bringing light to pertinent issues that we need to face.
