In the Sharp Edge of Silence we enter the world of an elite private school. The story is told from the viewpoint of three characters: Quinn Luddington Walsh ('Q'), a sixth generation legacy pupil; Charlotte Tate Foresley, a pupil who has been selected via the admissions process; and Maxwell Hannigan-Loeffler (Max), a scholarship student. Our three pupils all attend Lycroft Phelps School which has a high achieving alumni, and a student body made up of the obscenely wealthy.
From the blurb on the back of the book we already know that Q has been assaulted and is seeking to exact her revenge on her attacker. The circumstances of the attack and how the three characters are connected are slowly revealed throughout the book, as the narrative switches between the three characters.
This is an excellent read - a study in revenge, toxic masculinity and privilege; although some readers may find the themes upsetting - but to be fair the book points this out on the cover.
