The cover of the book is eye catching with red stripes that look like cuts across the face of the book title. However, I noted that another cover was designed for publication. Following the first read of the opening chapters I initially liked the way the book started by using individual letters to identify the key characters within the book. I can see that this book has some very positive reviews and recommendations to read it. However, I have to confess that I found the subject matter to be very difficult to want to read about. Once I had received the book I thought about it but every time I started to read it I felt that I didn't want to continue. I applaud the author for tackling such a real and traumatic issue. For me the book has been added to my 'did not finish' pile for now.
