This has to be up there with the most intense books I have ever read in my life.
Violence against women. Sexual violence. Is not a new thing. And has its place in every place in history. It’s sad that it is still happening today and that despite all the awareness and companions a small section of society still believers it is ok to act like this.
This book highlighted male egos and how that can turn even the nicest person into someone they don’t recognise. Max was a nice boy. Until he joined the popular kids. And his head was turned.
Thankful that it came good in the end but the devastation that Q had to endure for the first few months back at school is horrendous.
The amount of women living with this terror and the memories of what happened to them is vast. But what we all must remember is we are women and we are strong. We are not alone. Lean on the people around you.
