The book opens with collegiate acceptance letters from the 1800s, inviting one boy, one girl and one legacy to the school.
This sets the book up to show how people are treated differently due to their gender, class and social status.
All is not fair in education and privilege is a factor which influences the chatters and their arcs throughout the book. As the trigger warnings on the sleeve confirm “privilege, toxic masculinity and revenge” themes drive this story, which is told from the perspective of 3 main characters - Charlotte, Max and Quinn.

As a parent of a boy who attended an all-boys schools for a while I have first-hand experience of the “boys will be boys” attitude and I agree that it has no place in modern society.
This book will stir a fire in many people as the unfairness and injustice of birthright and social status is used to excuse awful behaviour. Colin, king of the hill, will get what he deserves…
