I am so pleased that I got to read this book. The story is so powerful and draws you right into the world of Lycroft Phelps.

The story manages to address toxic masculinity, rape and abuse on so many levels. I really enjoyed the multi-generational aspect brought in by the teachers and parents.

I loved the characters, such diversity and realism to their perspectives and responses. I really felt for Max and to some extent Seb, they too were put in difficult positions but where does the line lie with accountability?

Q was brilliantly portrayed, and I loved the friendships that developed between the female characters. I also enjoyed the Sophia dynamic, showing that girls can also fall foul of the rules, and similar to Max, find themselves behaving in ways they know are wrong/not in line with their values.

I hope we reach a point where boys and men are taught the dangers of toxic masculinity and where the good guys are fully able to shut down the bad guys.

A brilliant read, would make a good book club read.
