This book is much more than a YA book. It can be read by anyone, at any age.
There were a lot of topics that are heavily taboo in books that I usually read, and are never full developed but this books heavily relies on the topic of Mental Health, sexual assault, toxic masculinity, privilege, but does not cover these up; it literally spells them out on the page.
I would say that this book is a must read for anyone, it opens your eyes to things that most people are hidden from or truly do not know the real meaning of. It is a message to the younger generation, that it is ok to speak up and ok to be a beacon of safety for others.
The book is in no way an easy read, but is a true, gut-wrenching and real portrayal of Rape and mental health; never once straying to a romantic novel that most people enjoy reading.
Please go read this book if you have the time - also have tissues at the ready!
