This feels like a complex folk tale spanning millennia that has been cleverly crafted into an adventure tale. Both my children (under 10) and I (40+!) will no doubt enjoy delving into Irish mythology and nature to follow the magic and watch good overcome evil. (Maybe?) I love discovering books for young audiences with strong, brave female characters that show our boys that girls can lead awesome, magical, scary, thrilling adventures just like Harry Potter and Percy Jackson can!
