I loved this take on irish folklore and mythology!

It follows a young girl who gets handed a magical stone by a giant, in order to save the world and protect the silver road.

Its a tale of young heros, enemies turning into friends and old magoc/immortal beings. Everyone works together new and old to defeat an old witch who is trying to raise the evil balor.

Rose is a great character for the main hero. She starts off thinkign herself as nothing special but proves to herself and the reader that she is, because everyone is special in their own way. So with the help of Gracie, Nelliee and the elf (oh and a surprising new friend who was a school bully turned good) she traverses across ancient Ireland to raise the old heroes and stop Balor and the witch.

From the starts its a gripping tale and I could not put it down! Will be passing this book to my Irish friends to see how they like the tales of their home!
