From the opening lines of the prologue you instantly get the feeling that this is going to be a magical adventure that any young reader would be thrilled to join.

Magic.. frost giants… a quest.. this book promised to be exciting right from the get-go.

Rich with Irish and Celtic folklore and heritage the book, which is aimed at older children (9-13 years old) l, explores themes of making good choices, and the consequences of your actions.
The powerful magic stone which is given to Rose can do both good and evil, so the characters (and the reader) are faced with decisions on how to use their newly acquired power (great power = great responsibility, as well we know)

This is one of the few books I’ve come across that I’d recommend to all children, it’s not aimed particularly towards boys or girls and has a neural (purple) colour scheme on the cover which makes it inciting to everyone
