I loved it
I love a fantasy novel and I love folklore. I am from Scotland so it was interesting for me to learn about Irish folklore.
I loved the twist of combining the modern day with the "Old Magic" as it made it very upto date and relevant. I can imagine a lot of young people will find the main protagonist - Rosaleen - easy to relate with.
I also loved the characters Gracie and Nellie, their little shops and Catshee - all of whom, ended up being huge important parts of the overall story.
Even as an adult, the story still held my attention and grabbed my interest and I found the style of writing descriptive, easy to read, simple but I did not feel like I was reading a children's book.
It was well written, with lots going on, but also not overcomplicating the main story, I would definitely recommend and I would definitely look out for another by the same author.
