The Silver Road is a dark and atmospheric tale told from the point of view of Lelle, a teacher and father who is searching for his daughter, Lina, who has been missing for three years. Also from the point of view of Meja. A teenager who has lived a difficult and heart-breaking life moving from one place to another whilst having to act as the responsible parent for her troubled mother, Silja.
It had me hooked right from the beginning with interesting and well-developed characters whom I quickly grew to love (or hate!). The Silver Road is beautifully descriptive evoking all the senses, plunging the reader in the middle of the action. I could almost smell the scent of pine needles and damp leaves in the forest.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading The Silver road and look forward to reading many more from Stina Jackson in the future.
