I really enjoyed this book which has been impeccably translated from Swedish.
A psychological thriller about Lelle's search for his daughter, Lina, who went missing after he dropped her at a bus stop 3 years earlier when she was 17.
He spends every spare minute he gets driving further and further afield along The Silver Road looking for her.
Meja and her mother arrive in the area to live with reclusive Torbjorn who Silje has met on the internet.
Then another girl goes missing.
There is a real sense of place and time in this novel. The long hours of daylight in the summer and the long hours of darkness in the winter effect the moods and actions of the characters. The survivalist family who befriend Meja are totally credible set in this bleak and lonely area in the north of Sweden.
Can't really say any more without giving away the plot but fans of Stieg Larsson, Camilla Lackberg and Hakan Nesser will love this book.
