Like the title, I found this book long and slow like a winding road through the countryside of Sweden. I put the book down multiple times and then restarted as I could not just get hooked into the story line. Lelle as a character was difficult to empathise with despite his harrowing story and I struggled with his narrative.
However, despite the negatives, I was surprised by the reveal of the killer of Lina and the story of how it had happened. This was the saving point of the book, however, it felt like after a huge amount of build up, the finale was over within a few pages.
Overall, I would not recommend this book as I found it too slow and difficult to engage with.
I’m sure others would love it though!
