This wonderful debut novel tells the stories of Lelle and Meja. Lelle's daughter disappeared 3 years ago and he cannot stop searching for her, driving up and down the Silver Road of the title during the long midnight sun nights of the Swedish summer. Meja has moved with her unstable mother to this remote part of north Sweden to live with a man her mother has met online. She is a city girl struggling with the remoteness until she meets Carl-Johan and his brothers.

I loved this book. I cared about Lelle and Meja, and wanted to know what connected them. As the sense of unease grew, I could not read quickly enough to find out what happened. This is a great book, with characters you care about, a wonderful sense of place and a thrilling story.
