I read this in around 3 hours. It was amazing.
The authors descriptions made everything feel whimsical but also heartbreaking.
Very few books allow me to connect with all the characters, this was one of those few. Even the horrid son was someone who I could feel for even if I didn't want to.
I thought I had guessed what the twist was about halfway through the book and i was so convinced i was right until I wasn't.
The only problem I had with the book was the ending. Did the son go to jail, how long for? Did the girls just up and get on with their lives with no help? Did the family get in any trouble?
Other than these few unanswered questions, I enjoyed the silver road immeasurably.
