I love historical fiction that teaches you things you didn’t know before. I know very little about the thirty year war and have been left wanting to know more. The man thing that jumped out at me when reading the first impression is the extras that have been included in this novel. I loved the authors note, map, illustrations, quotes and character list! All of them made the chapters easier to read and follow! I have been left wanting to know more about Jack’s adventure and the people he meets along the way!
