Nothing about the premise appeals despite usually enjoying historical fiction.

The fact that I know absolutely nothing about the historical period and can’t even place if in context immediately put me off this one sadly. Between the background information at the start, the fact that the book requires a cast list and it’s length, nothing screams ‘must read’ at me!
