I love historical fiction, but have never read anything set in Europe in this time period so the authors introduction is very useful. A bit slow to start but soon became immersed in the rich and lively (sometimes bawdy ! ) writing style. Will be very interested to read on.The cover fits the book exactly and enticed me to read .
