Every story needs a hero.
And every hero has a story.

Amidst the chaos of the Thirty Years’ War, Jack Fiskardo embarks upon a quest that will carry him inexorably from France to Amsterdam and then onto the battlefields of Germany. As he grows to manhood will he be able to unravel the mystery of his father’s death? Or will his father’s killers find him first?

This is a story of betrayal; of compassion; of loyalty and love.

The Silver Wolf is an exceptionally well written historical fiction book; it is deep and has clout.
The author has included a list of characters, their 'role', and what part of the story they are in, I was very thankful of this, as at times I had to refer back to it.
I really liked that there is a good portion of characters within the story, and that they aren't just soldiers; they are a diverse set, and each to which invoked in me, an individual emotion towards them.
The author also does state that she is obsessed with the thirty years war, and this is clearly reflected in her writing.
