I do love myself some historical fiction, and having recently read a multi-narrative book I was very keen to read a similarly complex novel. The Silver Wolf does exactly this! I loved how we get snippets of the story from various viewpoints, especially at the start when everything is being set up. I was so curious to find out who Jack actually was and the mystery behind him. Loved Sant's perspective when we got it. I could really imagine the scene and what was happening as the writing was very atmospheric. Though I was not familiar with the time period, I did really enjoy the historicism of it. When the story focused in eventually on Jack Fiskardo finding the truth of his parents death, I was hooked. The vengeance arc was gripping, and I cannot wait to read more!
As a fan of historic time periods, I was very glad to read the authors note at the beginning and the map, especially the cast of characters which really did help me get to grips with who is who. Definitely recommend this to historical fiction lovers!
