The Silver Wolf is the first installment in a proposed trilogy featuring Jack Fiskardo, a rather frightening character. Jack is on a mission of vengeance and it’s clear he’s not somebody to be messed with. The map is useful in explains the 30 years war which I must admit I didn’t know much about.
The Silver Wolf is a compelling read with the central character being type of 17th century James Bond character who seems to be to extract himself from tight spots. The book is packed with historical detail, has some lively touches of humour and a compelling plot.
It’s quite a long read but so compelling that you won’t want to put it down so be prepared for some long evenings.
It’s a little harrowing at times but I’m sure real to life in the time period.
I’m so pleased that’s it the first of a trilogy and will certainly be buying the next as soon as I get a chance.
