The Silver Wolf is the first book in the Fiskardo’s War trilogy. “Every story needs a hero. And every hero needs a story”.

Set against a backdrop of the Thirty Years War across Europe, we follow as Jack Fiskardo grows into his destiny.

At first sight this book looks long and intimidating, especially when you see it as only the first instalment. But as you get into it you find yourself longing to learn more. Cleverly the story is not told in chronological order. With three parts within the book, parts one and two are reversed. This really draws you in with the mystery of how Jack came to be on the docks in Amsterdam.

While some of the history is brushed past and can become somewhat confusing, it tends to be mere background to the key events in Jack’s life that make him the man he is. At its heart this is a story of a boy and his journey to manhood.

I look forward to the next instalment!
