I felt this first impression did a lot to set the scene without really giving me much to sink my teeth into, or a hint of where it was going really.
The cover and the blurb give a way a fair amount, which is good because I'd have been a bit lost with out it.
As it is I think I've got a good sense of the protagonist Erma, her life and potentially the drama and spark that will lead to the story, but this first impression didn't quite go far enough to draw in my interest
The dialouge and overall picture seemed fairly convincing and realistic seeming though which is good.
However the cover and the blurb was definitely better at making me interested than the actual sample I read
