I really enjoyed this book, I would say it is one for fans of the nightingale nurse series. It is a bit different from other war time books as it focusses on the lives of women after the war. I really enjoyed the feminist angle, although it is a bit sad that we still haven't closed the gender pay gap. I really loved Patience and Prudence as characters and how they manage to outwit their brother. The storyline about Belinda having to stay in mourning was a bit frustrating and maybe worked out a bit too easily in the end. It was a shame we didn't get to learn more of Prudence's backstory, maybe a sequel is planned to dig a bit deeper? I thought the ending was a bit rushed after all the buildup but it is a very good read.
