The story of Belinda Layton a widowed woman after the war, who is now known as a surplus girl. Belinda feels like she wants to move on with her life and further her career and find a job working in a office so she can quit her job at the mill. She gets a job at a bookstore then meets the owners nephew and things change from there.
I like the nice romantic side when reading and it was nice to feel it develop between the 2 main characters.
I really enjoyed this book, it was a nice warming read and i felt involved with the characters and they were all likable.
I think there could be a follow up story so we could find out what happened to the characters, i have never read any other books by this author but i will now.
