I really loved this book and read it very quickly. I was pleased to learn that the author is going to write two more in this series and I will be looking forward to finding out what happens to the characters in the story.
The author painted a vivid picture of what life was like after WW1. The hardships, the girls who worked long hours for very little money. The struggle to pay the rent and find food. It was very insightful as I don’t know much about this era.
The characters were very likeable with the exception of one or two and I got to know them as he story progressed. I was pleased to read that there was a happy ending and I was sad to finish it.
I shall look forward with interest to the next in the series.
