This book was a lovely read . This story was well written and easy to read. The writing drew you in to the story and the character,s were really well written . I haven't read anything from this author before but l think l would again. The writing describing the mourning period after the war was really interesting and must of been very hard especially for people like the main character who wants to start living her life again. The description,s of family life and how easy it was to fall in to poverty or end up in the workhouse was really poignant and interesting to read about. I liked this story. The writing drew you in and you really felt for the main character and her determination to make things better
